Web sites have surpassed seminars and presentations as the single most effective marketing tool. Seminars and presentations have been the leader in every survey we have seen over the past 20 years. They remain a staple. Also notable is that 20% of firms employ formalized search engine marketing and 8% say they get cases as a result. We expect both those numbers to grow substantially over the next 24 months. Purchase patterns for legal services are clearly shifting-Internet inquiry and research, whether personal referral occurred or not, is increasingly commonplace for council and executives.
